Taipei2016Dec: Monks, Nuns & Buddhist Monasteries.
Longshan Temple (艋舺龍山寺) is one of the largest and oldest temples in Taiwan. It is also the most well-known.
Built in 1738 by settlers from Fujian, China, the temple is also one of the “Big 3” temples in the historic Wanhua district of Taipei.
One of the other 2 being 天后宫, which we’d visited earlier.
Directly in front of the temple is a busy road, so it took some time to get a shot with the road clear of taxis and relatively clear of tourists – with a monk and a nun in the frame to boot.
