inToday is the fourth day of Christmas. Here’s the final Christmas card from my recent winter vacation in the Cotswolds. This post was first published on The Travel Memoir.
It had not snowed in the Cotswolds for a few years now so it was a pleasant surprise to see the neighbourhood blanketed with snow when we woke up one evening.
As a result, we got to see a side of the Cotswolds not usually experienced by tourists – a winter wonderland of charming cottages nestled in a snowy landscape.

Here’s wishing Christians from all over the world a Blessed X’mas!
May peace be with you and your loved ones Always.
In the photo is one of many charming cottages we admired in our tour of the Cotswolds in the UK this winter.

The Insight Vacations 40th Anniversary (IV40) app enables users to scan photos to access additional information – on their smartphones – of selected European destinations that Insight Vacations offers.
The Visual Recognition Technology replaces the use of QR codes while the app enables companies to interact with their customers by embedding additional information on each still image.

IFA GPC 2017 commences from 20-23 April so we spent most of today in the air, flying 8 hours from Singapore to Dubai in UAE; and another 8 hours onwards to Lisbon, Portugal; with a 6-hour transit in the Dubai International Airport.
So the entire journey took around 24 hours, if you include the 2 hours earlier you got to turn up at the airport to check in.
I flew Emirates Airlines and the check-in and transit was smooth.
The first leg from Singapore to Dubai was in an Airbus A380-800 and the seats in coach were relatively spacious and comfortable.

Helsinki2013Jun: Airport transfer to Helsinki central Railway Station
€5 Euros one-way for Bus 615 every 30 min.
Journey takes 33-44 min.
Bus 620 runs at night.
There are plenty of other options for easy airport transfer, including 6.2 Euros coaches by Finnair.

This ends this week’s stroll down memory lane to Helsinki in Finland. We will revisit another time.

Helsinki2013Jun: Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum… meet the fine Finn fishmonger in Hakaniemi Market Hall.
The market in Helsinki has a homely feel around it.
This young Finn spotted me taking a picture of his store and spontaneously posed for the photo.

Helsinki2013Jun: Fish store in Hakaniemi Market Hall, a quieter and less touristy destination.
It is an indoor market with food stalls on the ground floor and shops selling touristy stuff on the first floor.

Visit early before the local produce and flower stalls outside the market hall tear down for the day.

inHelsinki2013Jun: The Arabianranta or Old Town Bay area was where Helsinki was originally founded in 1550 by King Gustavus Vasa of Sweden.
Now it’s a tranquil park and bird sanctuary.
